Maui Jim was born in 1980 as a small business selling sunglasses on Ka'anapali Beach in Lahaina, Maui. Having established the market need for a technology capable of counteracting intense reflection, harmful UV rays but capable of enhancing the bright colors of the island, Maui Jim has conceived the revolutionary PolarizedPlus2® lenses. What began as his Classic Collection of seven models has grown into over 125 sunglasses models that are all polarized and all protect 100% from UVA and UVB rays.
